Class 4: This class will delve into constitutional energetics – how the energetics of plants interact with the environment of our bodies. We will dive into the integumentary system and the lymphatic system, learn how to make oils and salves and get first hand experience with foraging/wildcrafting.
Establish a strong foundation on your path to learning herbal medicine with our Foundations of Holistic Course. This five-class sequence offers an excellent introduction to herbal medicine by combining of hands-on learning, lecture, projects and getting out in the field to harvest and create a variety of herbal medicines.
We will cover 20 common Pennsylvania-based medicinal herbs, how to make a variety of herbal medicines (tinctures, salves, liniments, herbal vinegars, bitters, and teas), and how herbs apply to basic systems of the body. We will also present an integrated philosophy for understanding herbs by their common herbal actions, drawing upon holistic herbalism and traditional Western herbal foundations.
By the end of this course, you will feel confident in how to make your own herbal medicines and integrate their use into your daily life.
